Study Skills Questionnaire

Study skills—Questions to clarify the strengths and weakness of learners.

Learners can rate themselves, then parents and/or teachers can rate the learners.

Any differences on the ratings can be discussed and positive actions can be taken.


 

1. Has the learner got a strong awareness of the benefits that effective study skills will bring to his/her life?
 
 
2. Does the classroom behaviour of the learner (and/or classmates) actively enhance his/her learning?
 
 
3. Does the learner have a specific awareness of his/her study problems and how he/she can fix these?
 
 
4. Has the learner have techniques to mentally and physically energise himself or herself and thus enhance his/her ongoing studying?
 
 
5. Has the learner set any academic and extramural goals and is he/she positive and motivated to achieve these goals?
 
 
6. Does the learner have techniques of understanding and remembering material for test and exams?
 
 
7. Does the learner have techniques for enhancing his/her creative thinking and problem solving?
 
 
8. Does the learner prioritize, and carry out his/her homework and revision tasks?
 
 
9. Does the learner fully concentrate/focus on the schoolwork that needs to done?
 
 
10. In the end, learners are measured by their performance in exams. Does the learner have the techniques and skills to maximize their exam marks?
